[Meta] is anyone subbed here from the Character Forge subreddit? Either way, Why did you join Character Forge here on Kbin?

Just curious! I didn't post often there but I did post so I'm wondering who else came from that Reddit!

Why did you decide to subscribe to the Forge here? Are you hoping to show off some characters? Gather some resources ? Talk about power levels? See some pretty character art? Or all of the above :)

I don't remember exactly if I was subbed there, but the most recent memory I have from r/characterforge was seeing some funny characters that ended up growing bigger and bringing some cool stories to life and also seeing people being supportive no matter what. I love seeing new characters and also sharing my own creations, helps a lot to expand creativity in general and it's nice to see it rebirthing here after reddit's downfall.

I actually never knew the subreddit existed. I was looking for communities when I joined kbin and this popped on my radar. I'm always theory crafting with players and friends so this seemed like a cool place to follow.

That's awesome and I'm glad you're here! I'm curious about your theory crafting. What kind of theory crafting do you do in relation to characters?

I'm really hoping I can get this community to take off, all my life I've enjoyed developing ocs and worlds but I did enjoy seeing others creativity way more than my own lol!

Its more of how I help my players create their characters. I tend to DM DnD for a lot of newer players. I have found that they care way more for the character they are playing if they can get attached in the creation process. Instead of dropping a bunch of classes in front of them and saying "pick one", I like to ask them what kind of character they are trying to be without even thinking about what kind of classes are out there. Once they have a character idea, we start applying the game's classes (and pesky rules) to it. If I do it the other way where they pick the class first, they seem to not interact with the game itself as much.

You're my kinda DM for sure ! That's awesome! The one time I played pathfinder my DM didn't allow for any role playing or anything. Just very point a to point b. I wish I had a dm like you and allowed for creative process
