I created a #Discord account just for the #Astro community. My my, what a freaking christmas tree #UX is that app. Where the hell did you hide my previous posts and interactions, Discord, so I may edit them?
@nicorikken Matrix is my thing and am in hundreds of chatrooms. Avoiding slack + discord as much as possible, but I have accounts on both for 2 projects I follow (one Astro on discord). There are some features in Discord that Matrix doesn't have, such as forum-like posts. But crappily implement.. or I just need to get used to that UX (which is possible too).

I understand. I see larger communities have multiple points of presence depending on the software or protocol they prefer. Separate in operation but connected on topic. So there might be others in the same boat as you prefering #FOSS willing to join a new community on #Matrix or the #Fediverse
@nicorikken yes, I even think I count Matrix as Fediverse, or at least Social Web for the time being.
The matrix UI has its quirks and UX issues too, but with an open protocol and ecosystem and promising future based on that, things are different, and I'm more forgiving and just happy to be part of it.
