Our stove/oven is starting to have problems. It's been repaired a couple of times in its 20 year life but it's probably time to replace it. I can't believe how expensive appliances have gotten. What if I don't need Wi-Fi and several other unnecessary things? There's not much between rental grade and bullshit level of bells and whistles.
@KissAnne@That_One_Guy Ovens, fridges, soon enough you won’t even get water from your tap unless you subscribe. I dread my next appliance purchase. Right now no appliance I own is “smart” and I hope to keep it that way. Let me know if you find a brand that is decent and also not smart, Brian.

Yes unfortunately some ranges are "smart" now. I've looked at a few different GE models that had extra BS but no Wi-Fi. There are others to but I've always had good luck with GE.
It kind of depends on whether we go gas or electric. @KissAnne

I've seen some epic spiders in my basement so I wouldn't be surprised to find a bear.
Fun side note they reintroduced bears to Missouri and we're now over 900 in the wild. There have been some spotted within 5 miles of my house. Sadly one got hit on the highway right by my town. @KissAnne
@That_One_Guy The samsung oven we bought a few years ago is great. Came with a center large burner and a grill to go on top of it. I don't know if anyone there makes bread, but I LOVE the bread proofing mode.
As for cost, we saved lots of money by ONLY looking at models that were no more and no less then two years old. This is right about when they are looking to bring in newer models and will be willing to negotiate the price to get rid of them.

I looked at a nice gas range similar to what you're describing. It's funny you mentioned bread, in the last two months Melissa has been baking 90% of our bread products.
I have a friend of a friend working in an old school appliance store I'm going to tomorrow. Like I said to someone else I don't mind bread proofers and extra bells and whistles, I just don't want to pay for them.

I'm pretty good at negotiating so that won't be a problem. I'm hoping to find something someone returned or slightly dented on one side. Both sides are covered in my kitchen.
