The gaming gods are no longer with me.

My PS5 wont connect to Play Station servers using my home wifi but WILL if I hotspot with my phone.

My PC game controller decided it needed it's drivers updated and wouldn't you know it? The update made it so that my PC no longer recognizes the controller!

WONDERFUL! 🤡

My next step is to wipe my PS5 clean and reinstall the OS.

I am not happy.

The place my daughter has been working at for over 2 years has been slowly reducing her hours to 8 a week. They even tried to split that into two days at 4 hours each.

She's never liked the job. She's always had a hard time working and dealing with the public but she's pushed herself to keep going because she doesn't like being a "quitter".

I told her to just quit. It's not worth her time and she'll be starting community college twice a week anyway this summer.

It's hard for her regardless.

So what happened exactly? Your front wheel popped off because the quick release was on the wrong side? Was it just not on tight enough?

I used to do a shit ton of urban cycling. I had to learn to fix almost everything my self. If your forks are bent, then replacing them is the right thing to do. NEVER fuck with the frame. That includes the forks.

What a bummer. Hope it gets fixed soon.

BTW. What kind of lock do you have for it? The last thing you need is to have it stolen after you've fixed it.

@DavBot That's a lesson learned I'll bet.

Learn EVERYTHING about your bike. Down to what the tension needs to be in your crank set. Knowing how and why it operates the way it does will save you a lot of repair bills in the future.

@DavBot Another way to think about it is that statistically a bicycle rider has one major repair every few years. You've just gotten it out of the way early. You're set for the next few years!!! 😉

@DavBot good thinking. I always advise that a bike lock should cost about 15-20% of the cost of the bike. Also, make sure when you lock it up that you lock the wheels to the frame. I used to use two locks. One to lock it to whatever I was locking it to, and another to lock the wheels to the frame.

And trust me, it paid off. There were a few times where I could tell someone with a bolt cutter failed to get my bike. You don't question the cost of the lock after that.

My girlfriend texted me asking me the name of a Japanese group that I listen to in an attempt to impress two young teenage girls who belonged to a friend of hers.

I wrote back "Good luck with that!" because I raised a teenage girl and know first hand their lack of interest in ANYTHING coming from an adult.

At least she tried.

@jprestonian I have a very wide taste in music. When people ask me what my favorite genre of music is, I usually just answer with "all of it".

Today I've been listening to Djo.

Yesterday I was listening to MF Doom and the day before that The Dave Brubeck Quartet.

A few months ago I had to explain Wagner's " Der Ring des Nibelungen" to my girlfriend.

Music has been an integral part of my life.

Well I got some bad news from my girlfriend yesterday.

Her work is removing one of their "work from home" days. It was Wednesdays and Fridays. Now it's just Fridays.

I enjoy having her around for those two days a week. We enjoy each others company immensely and now that they are taking one of the days we spend together away, the week will be a little harder to get through.

We have 3 months to adjust, so that's good I guess. Still, it bums me out.
