I haven't been on Reddit since the 11th... Anyone else?

Honestly I'm relieved tbf. It's only after leaving reddit did I realize how toxic the userbase is and how negatively it affects my mental health. The people in the fediverse are more civil, friendly and kind and I couldn't be more thankful for it. It might sound selfish but I really don't want the reddit bigots to migrate here. I've edited my comments and deleted my accounts won't be going back on reddit again even if the API issue gets resolved.

I mostly lurk on Reddit. Which will end as soon as Apollo is gone. Only exception was Saturday when Russia went BOINK for a moment. Couldn’t control myself and went on a shitposting spree on r/worldpolitics.

gotta say i'm quite surprised that some communities are thriving here. sure it's only a fraction of what's on reddit, but it's still quite active

I just logged-in for the first time in about 3 weeks to start deleting all of my posts.

First you have to edit the post and replace all the text with "(deleted)", then you have to wait for the change to be registered in the Reddit database. After a short time, you can delete the post, but it wont actually be deleted, it will just be impossible for you to change the text of the post anymore.

They ostensibly provide tools for you to request a copy of all of your data, and to request they delete your data. But many have demonstrated that these tools actually do absolutely nothing.

Yeah I haven't used reddit since the blackouts other than a few google searches leading me there, and checking to make sure my comments stay deleted. Fuck steve huffman

Yeah, the content I used to enjoy there just disappeared because of shitty John Oliver memes or lockdowns. There isn't much left for me to do there.

Other than Google results, I've only been on once to check on how bad the dumpster fire is since the 11th. Definitely haven't doom scrolled once.

Reddit refugee here since the 12th. i'm glad i gave up my subs and left reddit. I haven't looked back. the whole thought of the #fediverse and being able to talk to anyone from other instances is amazing!

My only interactions with Reddit since the blackout have been google search results. I admit that I do miss it, but the behavior of spez and his lackeys has been despicable, and totally killed any enthusiasm I had left for Reddit.

We dropped off the day that rif announced they were folding, we don't remember which day that was. Technically we've been there since then occasionally, either because we accidentally clicked a link in google search, or because the other day we went back there to grab a list of our subscribed subreddits to do a proper migration, but the moment the writing on the wall became clear, we jumped ship.
