Got it working on my phone in about 10 mins, went to put it on a friend's phone and spent 2 hours not getting it to work. Love it either way though highly recommend.
I did this yesterday, moved apollo into a folder and shortcut for this in its place. I don't miss reddit, think I like it here. I've been switching between here and beehaw, tildes, squabbles and hexbear but seem to be staying here today. Participated on reddit until about 7 years ago and then just lurked. With this community and how this feels like the old days of the internet here I am saying something again.
Same honestly. I'm not sure why I've decided kbin is home but I guess it is. I started on Lemmy first but I feel comfortable here. Gotta figure out more navigation but I'm honestly good. It does feel like the old internet days again, doesn't it!
That's awesome! I'm definitely getting that same vibe here and that's how it felt when I made the jump from twitter to mastodon last year. The fediverse is so much nicer. I hope it stays that way!
Yep, I still have the shortcut for reddit, with the little orange Snoo icon, in my bookmark bar on Chrome and I can't seem to be able to say good bye. Although I have deleted all the content from my 14 years old account I still check it up to see what's going on. Addiction is a hell of a drug.
Yes, I'll close reddit on one monitor and turn my attention to another monitor....where I'll promptly open reddit. I call it the "reddit is different depending on which monitor you use it on" effect. Joke's on reddit, I deleted my icon for it two days ago, and today I added one for kbin in its place. Purple is a really nice color. I've hated the orange ever since they changed it from the delightful snoo on a pale blue background.
(Admittedly, I'll happily readd the reddit icon if reddit compromises on API pricing and 3rd party devs are happy with them again.)
Its odd seeing so many people, including myself, who do this. We were super addicted and its just crazy to think about. I found myself going to reddit, closing reddit, and then going right back in there again and others have said they do the same. I hope we can get clean from this Reddit brain eating virus we have.
I do that all the time. I go out and have this weird urge to go back in, then I repeat the whole thing. Somedays I spent hours aimlessly browsing Reddit without leaving a single comment. We are legitimatelly addicted and didn't know until now. I have had legitimate withdrawal symptoms starting only hours after the blackout began. It is seriously worrying.
