I honestly think has missed the boat on this one. Those who care about will already be on or ; and those who don't care won't pay the extra to get it. The fact the aforementioned three services all include lossless in their base subscriptions while it will be an extra tier on Spotify won't help matters.

If they'd gone lossless a year ago it might have mattered. Now, not so much

@paulthenerd Im on spotify because it has deals with all the labels and has all the small indie bands. Tidal is missing stuff. Id love lossless on there.

(and especially ) audio is all a placebo at best (and a marketing con at worst) anyway. The vast majority of people cannot tell the difference between a 320kbps mp3 and a 192KHz24bit file, and that only gets more true as we age. Lossless is useful for archival purposes; audio consumption not so much.
