Where did Epictetus say that? He certainly was critical of his pupils’ fronting mere learnedness as wisdom, but I don’t recall his opining on Chrysippus’ writing.
Poetic justice would be the slowpoke who is actively trying to block people from getting around him getting pulled over for impeding the flow of traffic. But that never happens.
Great quote. It’s how I try to think of my anticipatory anxiety. You double the stress by being anxious about it before it even happens. And it usually is not as bad as the grim scenarios I make in my head to overwhelm myself.
This is pretty dope. But uhm that section with the authors , i am terrible at recognising ancient greek people by their marble bust. May someone tell me who they are? Thanks
It's good to have, but I wonder if it could be improved. Also, not sure how I feel about 'cheat' sheet... feels a bit too close to superficial $toicism or Broicism. BUT maybe I'm just being overly picky on that one. And I don't have any clever ideas on what else you'd call it that was equally pithy...
Anyway, naming aside, what could we do to improve this? I think adding the names of the 'classic stoic authors' would be a small start. Maybe we need to think about who it's aimed at more? Like is it an aide memoir for people reasonably familiar with Stoicism or is it more of a 'key points for newbies' type thing?
Good suggestion! But I'm not really the one who made this, so I don't know how to make guides like this. If someone knows how to make this, you may post it on this community! I'll gladly pin it!
