Let's kickstart the week with a 😎.

on is the only mobile browser that offers a two-level Tab Bar.

@Vivaldi Vivaldi said they would have no choice but to accept web DRM API on their browser. For us there is a choice and it's Firefox

@louisrcouture That's not quite what we have said. If Web-Environment-Integrity becomes a widely adopted standard, every browser (including Firefox) will be effectively forced to implement it.

@Vivaldi brave said they wouldn’t implement it. You know, some people are brave.

@louisrcouture To be more precise, they'll most likely have to remove/disable it. We're also looking into it.

But it still does not offer text reflow when zooming, so I cannot use it on Android, sadly.
So is still the only via le choice there...

Hey @acn128!
Have you tried enabling "Show zoom option in main menu" in Settings > Web pages > Accessibility.
Then, select "Default zoom" from the :vivaldi_gray: menu and use the slider to zoom in and out on the open web page. The text will reflow nicely on most sites. :tony_normal:

acn128,

@Vivaldi
No, it doesn't. See example screenshot (with slightly overexaggerated zoom).
Also, conpare with Opera screenshot from the same blog post - text reflow without any hassle...

Opera browser on Android showing a Vivaldi blog posting in extreme zoom and the text reflows perfectly.

@acn128 It looks like you used pinch & zoom. Try again, using only the zoom slider. It should look like this:

@Vivaldi
Using this method, it is working - up till ca. 170%, then it's failing again.

But you have to admit that using this much effort (open menu, search menuitem, use slider ...) just to be able to zoom into a page is ... useless?
And also that pinch-and-zoom does other things and even also affects the same zoom slider is ... interesting.

In my opinion, Opera is still way above this in terms of usability.

@acn128 Perhaps it depends on the device (and website), but in our test, the horizontal sidebar doesn't appear until 202% zoom. However, if you often need to zoom the text on many websites, you might want to consider increasing the default zoom: https://help.vivaldi.com/android/android-appearance/zoom-options-on-mobile-devices/#Zoom_in_on_web_pages

theuxoflife,

@Vivaldi Will you eat up twice as much Ram?

@theuxoflife
No, you'll still have the same number of tabs open, they're just easier to access.
