How's the weather in your part of the world right now?
As you see here, it's 15F/-9C currently here in Winston Salem, NC.
The wife is staying inside all bundled up. I was outside for a bit earlier as I went for a short walk to enjoy the cold. It's not too windy outside so that makes a difference.
@cliffwade honestly since I don't drive anymore there's basically no downsides to snow now. Just need to get the sidewalk in front of my house cleared so nobody eats it trying to walk the dog or something
@cliffwade I ride my bike to work most of the time (this week I've taken the bus) and I'm able to walk to most of my other necessities. I got rid of my car last year and now my wife and I share her old Civic. Just been minimizing using the car, which saves a lot of money and it feels nicer to get around without driving
@itsshevee That is awesome! I too don't drive, and haven't for several years. We simply rely on Uber to go places, which we don't go out much to be honest.
I work from home, so that saves that driving or riding a bus or anything similar.
So expensive to own a car, with insurance and the rest of the expenses that come with it.
Also, huge congrats on getting married. I had no idea you had gotten married until just the other day.
And yeah thanks! We quietly did a courthouse wedding in October with our parents/siblings/grandparents and then left for NOLA for our honeymoon the same day, it was amazing. Highly recommend.
That is awesome that y'all did it like that. Great way to do it.
Bianca and I got married in Las Vegas, but we just went to a chapel near Fremont St and it was just the two of us and the officiant and a photographer.
@cliffwade my mom actually did something like that when she got remarried a couple of years ago. That was a while back wasn't it? I think I remember you were engaged when we met up in Vegas in ~2014

Yep, I was indeed engaged when we all went to CES that year. We got married March 1st, 2018, which was Bianca's second time in Las Vegas as I took her the year before and she fell in love.
@itsshevee Indeed it does. It's crazy to think it's been 10 years since we all met up. Those were good times for sure. I certainly miss those days of blogging and CES and all of the stuff we were doing back then.
@cliffwade every once in a while. We keep talking about trying to get together but life is busy. I was actually just poking around to see if he had moved over to fedi and I don't think he has.
@itsshevee I was looking for him the other day as well and didn't see where he had moved over here. Maybe you can convince him to do so as I feel he'd enjoy it here.
