    The year is 2040, we have the world's first trillionaire. Automation and outsourcing has eliminated most higher income jobs and the majority of fast food restaurants are fully autonomous. No one buys anything anymore, because they cannot afford it due to all the job displacement. Everything is subscription based and or supplemented by advertisements. All grocery stores are owned by one company. Lake Michigan has been renamed Lake Nestle.

    Something I've noticed a lot lately, is that especially Boomer women, but honestly, women in general, don't seem to ask for what they want or need in a direct way. I notice this a lot with my Mom and her friends. Instead of just asking for what they need directly they tell a story, to ask in a roundabout way. For instance, my Mom needed help this morning, and Instead of just saying, "Hey, I dropped my remote, can you pick it up for me?" She tells a one minute story about what happened, no ask, and eventually I get the point, and then suggest that I come pick it up. Or if one of her friends wants to do something like have a birthday party for a friend, they don't say "We should have a party!" They say, It's Sarah's Birthday coming up, you know she likes surprises, what does everyone think we should do?"

    I often wonder if this is why older people think younger women are rude and demanding, because younger people often just ask for what they want and need in a more direct way. But also it's probably just straight up sexism, because men are supposed to make decisions, and women are supposed to make suggestions.

    What do you all think? Is this just me? Have you experienced something similar?

    @RickiTarr right now my wife is in medical residency and has been told she's rude and unprofessional. She's none of those things, rather, she's direct and to the point and is not paternalistic. I think some populations of older people, especially men, think women should always be meek, mothering and quiet. Sexism, absolutely, but I also think it's generational as well. Leftovers I think from when women were supposed to be caretakers and utterly dependent on men because they couldn't get loans or own a credit card. All in all it sucks shit and needs to stop.

    @StillIRise1963 I see a few comments here missing the point. For example, let's dial back to the Alabama special election of 2017. Roy Moore was single-handedly destroyed by Black women voters. They voted his ass out of there. Alabama had a Dem senator because of Black women. White dems need to talk to other white Dems and get them to vote or convince apathetic Dems and anyone else to go vote. Can't keep relying Black folks to save democracy.

    I'm an infertile atheist. In a fit of desperation while doing IVF, I went into a church and promised that if I could have children, I'd have them baptized. I had twins and returned to fulfill my promise because of superstition. I was then told that because they were IVF babies, they had no souls and couldn't be baptized. So, I went back to my original FUCK RELIGION stance. 🙄
