@ashleyspencer@actuallyautistic I'm slowly giving myself permission to do this. I wear dungarees and a tshirt most days, but I often feel "I should try not to wear pink today" because I'm aware that I wear pink a lot and people think it's weird.

One of the totally unfair advantages of presenting as male, is that no one bats an eye if you do this. In fact I've been doing this forever, long before realising I was autistic. Multiples of everything, same sensory friendly clothes all the time. 😊
Unless you're a gay male, because we're supposed to be fashion-conscious and spend an inordinate amount of time coordinating.
I cheat because my other half buys my clothes, and I worked out a system to keep me from wearing the same clothes over and over. Clothes to wear get pulled from the left, clothes from laundry get put in from the right. Everything stays in rotation, and I can manage to pick colors that match.

Colours that match, is me basically always buying blue, with the occasional grey. But then I'm colour blind.
Also, since I'm one of those people who can look scruffy even in the most fashionable and expensive of clothes, only the most wildly optimistic would expect me to try and keep up with fashion 😂

At the moment, I do kind of wear the same things all the time, just in various colours – but I have previously tried to have a little variety in my (metaphorical) wardrobe, probably for the sake of not appearing too weird
I should go all-Autistic in my clothing choices – some things would be so much easier!
@transponderings@actuallyautistic It was motivation to clean and organize my dresser and closet. I’ve gained to a healthy size so I have to buy all new summer clothes. Packs are much more efficient, and cost effective. Of course, nothing beats ordering 4 more autistic t-shirts as a tax deductible business expense lol
