@thepoliticalcat no! When the PH worked in high schools, she had a rule: imagine you have a hula hoop around you and I have a hula hoop around me. If the hula hoops cross, you are too close.
I think this works for cats as well as humans. He is too close.
@thepoliticalcat I spent most of the day defending my box from an Eric incursion. I did manage to get a good sleep in it eventually when he went to sleep on MY scratcher.
@thepoliticalcat He does know what he's doing and it is intentional. Every time I go in my box, he jumps onto the radiator bed to upset me. When I leave the box, he follows me. :ablobcatcry:
I'm putting in a request that the radiator bed is moved away from my box.
@thepoliticalcat Today has been very difficult. After my obligatory morning hug, I went outside to sit in a bush, but a storm came and I got damp and blown about. I took out my rage on my scratcher, then found my box had been moved very slightly. I've just tried to have my Pointless hug with the man, but Eric is there, so I am now checking out my box's new position to see if it is less traumatic than before.
@thepoliticalcat The Cats Protection League had a kitten crisis: their adoption centre had a virus, so it had to close for a while, they ran out of foster homes and then there were loads of kittens all at once. They put out a call for adopters, so Eric came here. He was born under a tree in Rochdale but could not stay at his foster home because his sister had bitten him badly.
Also, when the Preferred Human retired from work, she had more time to do cat based things, I suppose.
@thepoliticalcat No, he's been here for 5 years, so he's not going anywhere, unfortunately for me. I'd got very used to having the preferred human all to myself.
@thepoliticalcat Lockdown was terrible because suddenly I had the man and the Tall One in my home all the time: getting in my way, sitting in my comfy spots or getting the PH's attention. Before Covid and Eric, it was just me and the preferred human all day, every day #HappyTimes
@thepoliticalcat Yes, it was raining, but not as badly as yesterday when it was a deluge. Thankfully, I could run out to toilet without getting blown away and soaked. It rains a lot here, so a cat must cope with wet weather in order to survive.
@thepoliticalcat no one understands how difficult my life is. I think Eric and I would get on better if we had more space. If we are inside, there are only 4 rooms for cats. However, I won't go in the Tall One's room because it's too untidy for me. Then, during lockdown, the man was teaching in the kitchen, which left only 2 small rooms for cats and the PH. I took to sitting in a bush in the garden just to get some peace.
@thepoliticalcat I do like my personal space with peace and quiet. The tall one wanted to stroke me today, but I wasn't in the mood. I had to go and sit outside for a bit, or I would have lost my cool. There is a good bush in the garden that is reasonably dry.
When it's snowing, I rush outside, trying to avoid getting snow on my paws, do my business as fast as possible, then race back indoors.
