Is there a way to make Lemmy links open in a new browser tab?

I'd love to be able to click on a link and have it open in a new tab rather than in the current tab, without having to specifically right-click and tell it to do so. This was the behavior I had set up back on reddit, though I don't recall if that was a built-in feature or part of RES, and it makes browsing a lot more convenient.

WarMarshalEmu,

Can your mouse middle click? Middle click (clicking the mouse wheel down) in my browser (Firefox) automatically opens something in a new tab. I think most browsers do this too (citation needed)
