neil,

I asked yesterday:

> Can anyone recommend hacker / cyberpunk / cypherpunk fiction written in the 70s/80s/90s, please?

I got a wealth of amazing replies - thank you so much!

Here's a consolidated list of the replies/recommendations:

Usula LeGuin, while not exactly hacker or cyberpunk should be on the list for The Dispossesed (1974)

May I add Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light (1967)

@neil I'd add Stand on Zanzibar.

@neil

have you read dan simmons? if you feel at some point going through this pretty hardboiled stuff that you might enjoy something a bit softer, more like near future fiction but in far future settings, ilium or hyperion might be a nice break

@neil Star Fraction by Ken McLeod. Very political.

fallen_angela,

@neil you've got Mona Lisa Overdrive listed with the wrong author, it's part of Gibson's Sprawl trilogy

Zuggaschnegge,

@neil
Great list. I'd like to add the Eclipse trilogy by John Shirley
