/r/place is expected to come back on the 23rd of June, which is Reddit's 18th anniversary.
You'll note that this is also conveniently a week before the API changes go into effect, so I'm planning to, as spez would put it, make some more noise by putting a message right on the middle of the canvas highlighting their bad decision. Time will tell if I'm successful in this endeavor.
