IphtashuFitz, The first bridge collapse I remember was Interstate 95 in CT back in 1983 (Mianus River). Ten years or so after that a bridge on the New York State Thruway collapsed. We clearly haven’t learned much in the past 40 years, so don’t hold your breath…
