Spricht noch irgendwas gegen E-Ink im #öpnv außer vielleicht der Preis? Im Sommer kommen 42-Zoll-Schirme mit RGB-Layer (Kaleido 3). Auflösung reduziert sich zwar durch die indirekte Farbproduktion (es gibt keine Farbkörner im Panel). Aber es wirkt ausreichend auf mich und sie schalten binnen 0,5 s. Die Spectra-Demo vom letzten Jahr sieht natürlich cooler aus.
@ljrk Danke, dann ist das bestimmt noch der Rest des damaligen Versuchs. S Beuselstraße war an einer Bushaltestelle (oder war's Westhafen?) war auch mal ein Anzeiger, aber weniger hochauflösend als dieser..

@chikorita157 7" is a little too small for manga. I read on a Kobo Aura One (7.8") which is fine for most manga but I have to zoom in for translation notes and anything with dense text. American-formatted comics are right out.
fwiw I'm happy with Kobo itself. I buy from the Kobo store so I use stock OS, but lots of people replace it for something faster at CBZ and other formats. One complaint I often hear from new owners is that Kobo dropped MicroSD for newer devices, so you can't expand storage for yourself.
@tojikomori I have a Boox Nova Air C and I guess it was allright, although I have to zoom in. However, I need to replace the screen protector since it got damaged and I got a replacement one. Haven’t got the chance to replace it.
The one thing I don’t like or trust about the Boox is that it sends data to a Chinese server. But I only read Bookwalker ripped manga to PDFs on there, so…

Juhu. Heute haben wir unsere access points für die #Eink Displays fertig gebastelt und in Betrieb genommen. Die Displays haben wir auf dem #37C3 von der @cbase bekommen. Vielen Dank noch einmal dafür! Einige werden wir hier als Raumschilder und einige als Info Displays nutzen.

To install:
1- Unlock your bootloader! THIS IS A MUST.
2- follow these commands:
adb reboot bootloader
-- wait until you see a white screen with FastBoot
fastboot reboot fastboot
-- wait until you see a dark screen with a menu
fastboot flash system /path/to/rom.img
-- wait until it finishes flashing
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
I'll keep working on the app, but for now, refresh and speed setting is working when pressing the refresh eink button!
You will need to stop the current app, and install this one as an update. Android 13 now restricts side-loaded accessibility services, so you will need to stop it and do "Allow restricted settings" on the app info screen!
