What a teaser!!! I would have gotten Hisense A9 CC, but sadly Hisense no longer makes eink smartphones. Wondering if Bigme will bring these to Europe. They have licensed Google Play, and hopefully they come with at least Android 13? Would love to review it!

Is a postmarketOS GSI image a thing? Would be interested in reading or hearing from devs if such a thing would be possible/doable. This would open up @postmarketOS to a lot more Android devices 🤔

@fisch @postmarketOS it's a Generic System Image. Google added this to Android 9+ devices that support Treble, allowing a developer to run a newer version of Android on their devices without needing an official update!

Spent the afternoon trying to get my 3500U to downclock to anything lower than 1.4GHz... long story short, amd_pstate is gatekept by Lenovo's unwillingness to allow us to enable ACPI on the BIOS of the Thinkpad T495, where there is a huge amount of people complaining about this and yet no BIOS update has been provided... some work is ongoing on kernel 6.8+ to bring compatibility to AMD APUs but we are not there yet... Of course, if I had Windows, this works, regardless of the BIOS. So there's that. I'll wait for the geniuses to crack this CPU power savings and underclocking. Meantime? Will carry my laptop charger, just in case I need to juice it up.

I had bought a T495 second hand from Taitonetti.fi and I thought it didn't have backlight. The trackpoint and the buttons from the trackpad were not working when I got it, so I thought it was not compatible with Linux perhaps. Today I saw a video on how to replace the keyboard and I thought, let me see if there is something wrong with the keyboard. Guess what? The keyboard is working properly, a ribbon cable was not properly inserted. Now fully operational.

Credit when it's due: Spotify UX team is AMAZING. It's so mind boggling how seamless it is to use their service across devices. And now Nest Home Hub Max has a full fledged app on the display, not just the player for the current app. 😍 Did you notice the Home button on the top?

@jago I'm not paying a subscription, it's on the free account. I'm logged in with my account on all devices. I can put music playing on my laptop, go to the kitchen, open Spotify on Nest Home Hub Max and it will show what I'm playing on the laptop, and I can switch to play on the kitchen display. I can go to my car, open Spotify app and it shows me what is playing somewhere else and resume it playing over Bluetooth on the car. Can arrive home, come to my laptop and it resumes where the car left it.

I've seen issues as you described when I was not logged in on a device or there was two accounts at play where my wife would change song and it would show that on the kitchen display. Maybe that's what you are experiencing?

As someone who has been on Fedora since 27, reaching release 40 and upgrading without a problem makes me appreciate greatly about the team behind the OS. This took me an embarrassingly long time to get working. The transition from Gtk3 to Gtk4 has been a real learning curve for me. And this still isn't quite right. The HeaderBar isn't automatically showing the back button, I'm handling it manually.
