I’ll spoil it for them: it’s because they’re dumb, combative, openly chauvinistic and convinced that anything they can’t understand is the fault of the person explaining it to them when what you said was clear, concise and demonstrably correct.

I wonder why, when the article clearly shows that this is an interfaith movement toward intolerance and violence, the comment OP chose only to highlight Islamic involvement
It is a normal sex ed program that exists since half a century as the article points out. Having to justifiy teaching children about sex, risk of stds and consent must not be justified against vile lies of extremists.
It’s basically a tool to answer questions of children at different ages. Going from what makes boys different from girls, that consent is important, that violence in relationships is not normal or ok, that they should watch out with sending naked pictures of themselves and also that if they do get a naked picture from a partner it’s not ok to send it to others, or that what you see in porno is not at all representative for actual sex. Etc, etc.
Given that the radical religious groups and right wing extremists want to return the education and society to medieval times i find this joke completely out of place.
