Corner bracket by Neuralhub

This is a strong corner for fixing three planes. Print as in the screenshot. Added a new v2.1 version! The area of contact with the planes has been increased by adding small overhangs that do not affect the print quality. Added a new v2 version! Removed overhangs for simpler print quality. Increased base area for better adhesion.

toadyody,

I've got some crappy drawers that are falling apart this might be just right to fix them

flubba86,

Is it really strong enough?

In my mind it looks like all three side of wood might leverage outwards at the same time and rip that poor plastic bracket to shreds.

I suppose if there was something holding the boards in place at the other end, like another bracket, then the strength will add up.

ShadowRam,

Is it really strong enough?

I mean it really depends on the application.

But I've used PLA gussets in for a lot of things over the past decade and they still hold up.

A few specifically in repairing damaged drawers.

I mean, it's not like this is the ONLY bracket that would be holding together a box or drawer or something. The entire structure works together. If this was solid steel bracket, the screws would still be pulled out of the wood in your scenario if it was just the 1 bracket.

turbowafflz,

That is such a weird optical illusion if you don’t know what you’re looking at
