I came across this video yesterday, and I'm 100% on board with Ross and his stance toward games as a service, but this isn't a plan for a lawsuit; it's asking for help in creating the plan. I hope he can make something happen, because games as a service is going to leave a wake of destruction in the history of video games, but temper your expectations.
I’ll be honest, if the solution is Twitch, then I don’t need my problem solved. That is, compared to Twitch, I don’t need an alternative. Not having Twitch is a solid improvement over having Twitch. (kidding of course, but all too often it feels like that with just how bad the technical aspects of their site are)
The average^^@ user watches Twitch from 4pm to 5.30pm twice a week. There is absolutely a delta between what is required to be a profitable service, what is quality entertainment and what the service is and does currently.
No idea how you can come to any of these conclusions given that viewer numbers are publicly visible. If this were true the streamers wouldn’t be live as much as they are outside these hours.
It would be nice if the entire world didn’t consolidate into two mega corps. Good on CDR for having their own vision.
CP2077 + Phantom Liberty are excellent. I just started a new playthrough. I wish it had released in this shape.
There are even two versions that Jagex maintains, the main branch, and Old School Runescape, which is based around how the game was back in 2007-2009. (but with new stuff still added all the time)
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. A very complex RTS with a pretty steep learning curve and advanced strategy. Awesome game but not casual.
Alien vs predator games are specifically 3 player (marine, alien , predator). Not sure if there is a modern version. Interesting because each of the 3 play differently.
Unreal Tournament 2004, with few players it turns its normal frantic and fast paced gameplay into a suspensfull slower experience which is awesome.
I think you can get it on the internet archive as it stopped being sold on gog and steam this spring.
OpenRA - Do you remember the old classic series Command & Conquer ?
OpenRA takes the old original game, updates the controls to modern RTS controls, add new ai to play against, add support for modern resolutions and adds a good internet multiplayer system, all of this for free!
I don’t get it either. I’m hetero, not interested in ever having children, and have zero oopsie babies at 35. Even after I got a vasectomy this year, I continue to use condoms, as I’m not in a committed relationship at the moment.
