Good piece on these mysterious Roman dodecahedrons. More than 100 of these have been found around Europe and no one really knows what they were used for. More tests are being done on them. They're metal, and have survived undamaged for over 1700 years 🤯

I look at the internets and I see a lot of enthusiastic women who are like "Yeah, they're for knitting! Check out this video where I 3D print one and knit a bunch of cute gloves!" and then these like Wall of Text blog posts by dudes who are like "NOOOOOOOO Romans didn't even know how to knit! Knitting was invented actually really recently even though it's not that hard! Why? I dunno! What were these dodecahedra for? WE CAN NEVER KNOW!"
