It looks like a human hand. I like the human touch of digitizing, hidden in between digitized newspapers. This hand was scanning a German newspaper from 1638.

The human touch of . Here is another charming example of a person's hand doing a scanning job. If you work with books, you'll find these hands quite often. Here, a German Messrelation of 1697 was scanned in Munich (and, Alas!, the touched printed map was forgotten).
