Will we do experiments like Reddit r/place or The Button here on kbin?
It probably wouldn't work with Lemmy, but kbin users could do it. Might give the fediverse more attention, but it would need to be more original than a r/place clone.

Metaright, I kind of don't like that idea. I come to KBin for purist Reddit-esque discussions and link sharing, and anything more would just be clutter. As it is, I already ignore the microblog.
EmptyRadar, I hope not - or at least not for a long time. There are too many core features and functions missing to spend time on stuff like that right now, IMO.
CoffeeAddict, I agree. I find the culture here to be significantly better than reddit, but it still needs a-lot of work before they attempt something like r/place.
I wonder how it would even work with other instances though? It seems like that might be difficult to federate…
ContentConsumer9999, You could maybe make a magazine where each post represents a pixel and you can comment a color to change it then make an app interface that visualises the canvas when you enter the magazine and automatically posts for you when you click a pixel to change its color. That way each instance could take part in the canvas making if they wanted to.
JonEFive, (edited ) Something like this doesn’t strictly need to be done by the app developers or administrator. Which is to say, if you will it, it is no dream.
Do I think the Kbin and Lemmy developers are going to do major events like that? Not any time soon. Do I think someone else might come around and build something for a big community event like this? Maybe.
bleph, I only saw this post but it looks like your wish is granted
