How do I search for certain Lemmy communities on Kbin?

I've been trying to join https://lemmy.world/c/climbing@lemmy.ml from kbin, but it's not coming up on the magazine search. If I search for that or !climbing, it just says "empty".

Other Lemmy communities do show up, though. If I search for "NBA", then nba@lemmy.world and nba@lemmy.ml both come up.

Kbin syntax is @climbing@lemmy.ml, for starters. Same as Mastodon.

boothin,

If you're using the search in the magazines tab, leave off the prefix to the community name. So you'd want to search for climbing@lemmy.ml
And if you are the first person to search for a community on another instance, you won't see any of the old posts because it is not retroactive, but any new content will show up as its posted

It might just be wackiness between different instances/influx of users… Maybe.

I know that there are a few instances I’ve searched for from readit.buzz that don’t show up no matter how I search for them.* All the ways described here already and also by using the full URL of the community. Though the full URL does help sometimes.

*Including a community that I made myself. 🤷‍♂️
