@hischeekiness in terms of hosting?
Hoping to use a company that does dedicated fediverse hosting.

As with any other instance I will hope that people donate sufficiently to cover server fees. First year guaranteed to be a loss.

Hoping to recruit a few folk to help with moderation.

Safeguarding training would probably be an advantage in gauging acceptable behaviour...

Is that what you were thinking?

@jaz might be useful to talk to on the subject of moderation, and server covenants. @leewalton can certainly provide dire warnings about the hosting storage requirements.

@JdeBP @leighms @jaz @leewalton @JdeBP @hischeekiness Moderation certainly is a tricky one, and being able to reasonably draw that line as early as possible is always a good thing.

And I would strongly recommend being careful if you used a managed host, there are issues with media URL's being able to be moved, and if you do self host fully use a dedicated URL and S3 / Cloudflare R2 from the start!
