Hello World,...

This will be a quick post. We have received a phishing mail to our info@lemmy.world mail address telling that they are “lemmy.world Security Team”, telling that they will “disconnect” your account from our instance. This is ofc, not us. Do not fall for it! The attached image is how the mail looks like....

We set up a bridge between the Lemmy.world General Matrix room and the Public-1 channel on the Lemmy World discord server yesterday. It’s not perfect as emoji reactions aren’t visible and some minor things like how it handles edited messages but other than that it seems to be working well....

Wow, since my post yesterday, lemmy.world has added 2000+ new users to cross the 30000 user mark! Just think, it was only at 20k three days ago. Crazy growth....

Has there been any indication that reddit may pay creators and moderators, like youtube and meta and other platforms do? or are they just expecting to pocket all the cash?

The Lemmy user base passed 150,000 in total users....

Update. I asked a friend of mine to take a look at the Lemmy.world front page via his browser (vanilla Firefox) and it works as expected....

I've been exploring the fediverse and subbing and posting all over the damn place. Realizing lemmy can federate with kbin blew my mind. Not to mention the possibility of turning my old laptop into a personal server to host my own instance. Is this what it felt like to discover how the internet worked in the 90s?

I wanted to see how many redditors decided to quit or not. But the result shows a lot of them are not quitting reddit. Some of them did not know about the blackout situation....

I use brave browser for Lemmy. If you click on the 3 dots in the Brave browser (phone application), there you will see the option to install the application.
