Linux folks: If your response to the XZ backdoor is to joke or even contextualise along the lines of "Yes, but Windows/Mac are worse..." take a moment to think about how you'd respond to an individual taking responsibility by insulting others to make themselves look better.
I'm happy to accept responses that disagree with me but you treat me with respect or it's Block Town for you. I don't need a bow or curtsy, just Dollar-Store 'don't insult me' respect will do. :blobcat_thumbsup:
@penguingeek I sometime hear that "Linux doesn't have malware" and stuff like that. That does give an impression it's "100% perfect" which doesn't help with amount of circlejerking in the Linux space where SOME users would try brush the issue under the rug. Not saying every single one but definitely enough where it causes problem and come across as dishonest in my book.
Yes, it's much more secure than Windows by a miles away. The issue is the constant circlejerking which leads to few misinfomation and make it difficult to actually fix whatever issue is going on with Linux.
