Ask in software centers (package managers) whether the users want to get rid of application data or not. (purge vs. remove command)

@gmate8 it's package manager dependent. Dnf auto removes deps by default but apt doesn't.

@kenos but apt is the most widely used one so it's a problem for the majority, even if you don't experience this issue as a minority.
