@noellemitchell in this instance it is because different mastodon instances are fetching the page description for the link and likely not real people visiting

@bhhaskin Hmm that could be. I'll see in my stats in a few days what the number of visitors are.

According to Neocities the number of visitors is a more accurate representation of real website visitors.

@noellemitchell I'm always fascinated when one of my own websites or a particular page gets sudden traffic. It always makes me feel good to know people are visiting...but after 25 years of doing this, I still couldn't tell you why one particular content is more popular than the other.

@bryanruby Yeah I'm not sure why it suddenly shot up so much...especially since I've gotten zero feedback from anyone about the content on the site 😂 Very confusing.
