I don’t use Mastodon much at all, but have mostly the same feeling. Any alternative internet platform has the geeks first.

Lemmy being primarily a place to share links is better at it, as people share just about anything. But a platform mostly made for blogging - well that will be programming first, politics next, the rest maybe eventually.

Drinvictus,

Try and follow hashtags, make sure your posts have a BUNCH of hashtags

glimse,

Based on your replies maybe try the Roblox forum? More people your age there

lugal,

Follow hashtags. That made the change for me. If you see interesting posts, follow the user and following hashtags makes you find the interesting users.

frozencat,

ok

banana_meccanica,

Because in the mainstream platforms the people who share your interested are payed to make you feel like that. While in place like Mastodon, or here, you can feel the harsh reality.

frozencat,

ok
