I was today years old when I discovered that there was a comestible in the world called Deep Fried Spam Musubi. To be served with teriyaki sauce. Does anyone know of any place in Melbourne that sells them?
I got some rare roast beef sushi at one of the places in the new/old Southern Cross once. Delicious. Wasabi and rare roast beef hit superbly with sushi rice and nori.
I remember reading unsure if it was here or elsewhere, someone saying they didn’t think Lewis Capaldi would be making it to Australian shores and having a concert here. Turns out that person was correct, as he has cancelled his Australia/NZ trip
so dumbSee rolling over the folds of my brain,
A heavy fog that covers the pain.
Debt repayments made to Hypnos,
Plus interest paid in cryptic symbols;
Dreams shift and morph with heartbeats,
Each moment a lifetime lived, a feat.
Seek refuge under the starry nightsky
Some dreams are meant to slip on by
Decided to suss the smoking room here at JK airport (when in rome etc) and it is a solid compression session.
A staff member with tags walked in holding 2 beers opening the two heavy doors with her feet with an unlit ciggy in her mouth ready to go. Absolute pro compression session-er.
What a day! Hand stretched around 200+ pizza bases and hand peeled 60kg of potatoes. Bought avocado on the way home because guacamole is Miss Peeler’s latest food obsession. She and I made said guacamole when I got home. Took some time to admire my young Mr Peeler’s new avatar on WWE 2K22 and observe his wrestling game. Did a load of washing (just remembered I haven’t hung it up yet. D’oh!) Cooked dinner, did my exercises (day 3) cleaned the bathroom a bit and helped Mr Peeler (Luddite) with phone tech issues. Now I am laying in bed just blobbing out. But I must hang the damn washing. Bugger!
I am pretty tired and my feet are sore, but when I got home I hurt my thumb on the metal serrated strip on the baking paper box. It’s the tiniest cut but annoying af. It’s always the little things!
Decided to take a break from Netflix so spending the last couple of days of it watching some trashy reality offerings.
I swear Sammi is giving me a disapproving look.
Omg so adorable, I was watching a video of a mother cat and her kiten and my mumma cat came into the room and started sniffing all around the speakers because she could hear the little kitten’s tiny mews . What a beautiful lady she is.
There’s an app I’m using called Mlem. It’s the only iOS app out there at the moment. It’s still in beta testing with about 2 weeks to go for official launch. It’s fully inspired by Apollo.
You can download “ TestFlight “ from The App Store and then try to get the latest version here👇
@hasteee@StudChud while it's not ideal and doesn't look little Reddit, it's worth noting that there are several Mastodon apps which you can use to follow communities (or users) on kbin & lemmy, and you might find that gives you a bit of a window into how different the Fediverse is - it's kindof like being able to post to Reddit from Twitter, and receive replies in your Twitter notifications.
@hasteee haha that's one of many differences between Fediverse and gated silos, you don't really need to rush for a username, you choose a server you think is well maintained and fits your ethos and hope for the best, the biggest servers aren't necessarily the best choice. Right now the #threadiverse is groaning under the weight of new users, and because it got attention so suddenly, the servers are often struggling to cope with the increased traffic. that will settle down, but right now aussie.zone seems to be doing well (aus.social Mastodon server was in a similar position when Space Karen bought Twitter). I just love that I can have a conversation on the "equivalent" of a Reddit thread, from my most used account on the "equivalent" of Twitter, and have it all in the same timeline. It can be good to separate accounts out, sure, but I'm experimenting here and liking the results so far.
I guess I'm saying don't think of it as just a Reddit replacement, start thinking of the Fediverse in a different way, though having an app which shows you Reddit style interface and has those features at its centre, will also be great, they just aren't here yet =)
