[Meta] Just deleted a post due to the high level of negativity around here

Surprised it got a lot of backlash. The price increase of streaming service is bullshit while they’re removing sharing password and worse experience for the users.

Though, I saw the same picture on reddit through RSS-Feed. Haven’t checked the comments on that one, I’m curious now though.

I'm not agreeing with op, and I do find people need external validation, occasionally, including myself. But if we never want our personal ideas and issues challenged, we're pretty rigid and fragile. That calls for deep introduction, and that's scary and messy. Painful if we're honest with ourselves. But liberating and rewarding, as well.

Or were they just angry about the price increases?

Being angry about a price increase when prices are increasing is a pretty human experience. Also a pretty common thing to be hated nowadays.

So I do not know, but I wish you luck and greener pastures. This place is a diamond in the rough, and it is going to need years of polish. But so far, my experience hasn't been a bad one.

You mentioned a corporation and for whatever reason that brings rage to a lot of people on here. It’s FOSS, donation only, or gtfo. If you develop anything and expect to be paid you are the devil even if you’re a lonely sole developer.

Honestly I’m more disappointed that this isn’t the first time on Lemmy that I’ve seen someone delete a post and then try to make a big scene about how they didn’t like the responses they got and were giving up on a community.

Lemmy has so little content that your complaint post gets to be top of a community for a while, so that’s nice.

You’re not the main character, people are entitled to opinions, and you don’t have to care or take them personally. It’s the internet, there will always be someone who complains even if it’s entirely unwarranted.

Didn’t it start lower? I thought it started at $5 a month.

But yea, I pretty much only subscribe to ones I use regularly. Which is mostly just Crunchyroll. Dr I’m not happy about them taking over Funimation. Now it’s mostly just Crunchyroll and HiDive. Occasionally Disney, Netflix, or Hulu gets an exclusive.
