I donโt think bulbs use a whole lot of energy these days. A 10W LED bulb would cost $14 per year to run constantly (US pricing). An old 60W bulb would be $83 per year in comparison.
But thereโs probably no reasoning with someone who decorated that room.
Autonomous cars can also get into basically the trolley problem. If an accident is unavoidable, but the car can swerve and kill its own passenger to avoid killing more people in a larger wreck, should it? And would that end up as more liability for whoever takes the blame?
I get that theyโre successful, and itโd be fantastic if this became the trend. But Battlefield and Call of Duty sell consistently with much less development effort and a lot lower risk of flopping.
It looks like Call of Duty is typically 3 year development cycles, and one took only 1.5 years. Baldurโs Gate took 6 years.
Honestly Iโm more disappointed that this isnโt the first time on Lemmy that Iโve seen someone delete a post and then try to make a big scene about how they didnโt like the responses they got and were giving up on a community.
Lemmy has so little content that your complaint post gets to be top of a community for a while, so thatโs nice.
Youโre not the main character, people are entitled to opinions, and you donโt have to care or take them personally. Itโs the internet, there will always be someone who complains even if itโs entirely unwarranted.
Boeing and Airbus are the only large passenger aircraft manufacturers that Iโm aware of.
Donโt get me wrong, Boeingโs doing awful lately. But even on a good day the odds are high itโs Boeing, and even higher when news outlets know people want to hear about every fail from Boeing suddenly.
Great question, Iโm curious too. I definitely donโt want to give Boeing to benefit of the doubt. Just wanted to give perspective that there arenโt a lot of aircraft manufacturer options.
This is one of my worries with a growing wealth disparity in the world.
The average person is starting to get priced out of any luxury entertainment because there are wealthy people with unreasonable amounts of money to throw at whatever they feel like.
There will always be rich people who can pay whatever price a company asks for.
