I was witness to this - the night sky suddenly lit up, and then, moments later, the loudest explosion I've heard in years roared above.
Woke the cat up too!
Someone on one of the #Blackpool community pages asked, in jest, if it was a #Nuke going off.
The flash and the boom could be seen and heard as far up as #Fleetwood and the north #Fylde. And people slept through it!
Beats #Fracking-induced #Earthquakes, I suppose.
