This is terrible! I don't know anyone who likes beer who doesn't like Anchor Steam. I'm honestly shocked that none of the big boys have stepped up to buy the brand. Though, I guess maybe they're waiting for bargain basement prices in liquidation. Gutted.
I love anchor steam. I can’t decide if its actually good, or if it’s just nostalgia. The beer kinda tastes bad, but like, charmingly bad? Like sucking on pennies.
I was talking to my father about Anchor Steam recently since they had recently announced that they were reducing their beer output to just California.
This isn't really a surprise to us. The quality of the beer went down over the last few years and the availability has been terrible. I really wish they could have just found a solution to their problems instead of shutting down but it really hasn't been the same ever since they moved their brewing location.
A beer that I used to get occasionally when I'd see it on tap but I haven't seen it on tap locally in years as I think it's been pushed out by the minimum half dozen IPA's ever bar is apparently legally obligated to carry these days.
