Ive been loving this game. Its a card game with lots of depth to the optimization and some RNG but its not overly punishing. If youre looking for a fun casual game try it out! Its less than $10 on sale right now.
So this isn’t directly related to patientgaming but my hardware and personal tastes kind of filter me to playing games no newer than five years old....
Pretty much, I’m looking for a game where I’m not the hero, I’m not the protagonist, I’m just a pawn in the big picture....
I have a lot of respect for developers who bring new ideas and game modes and are thus keeping such a great game alive
For example, I didn’t fall in love with Titanfall 2’s environmental art design—it felt a bit generic to me, like it was meant to be the backdrop for a shooter, as opposed to the Sevastopol in A:I or the station in SOMA that felt like existing locations....
A little over a year ago, my wife and I finished playing persona 5 Royal and were eager to find another big rpg to play together. We went to the store and this bold, yellow game case covered in wild imagery sat on the shelf. It was yakuza like a dragon. This would be our first time entering the like a dragon franchise and it...
Feel free to let everyone know what you’re currently playing, recommend some great titles from yesteryear (especially on sale).
As Cities Skylines II still isn’t worth it (the sub has a regular thread about that, in summary: no it’s not: old.reddit.com/…/is_cities_skylines_ii_worth_it_m…) which games scratch your city building itch?
So I figured it’s about time I gave this game a shot....
I’m not sure if this counts as a “patient gamer” because I played them to death years ago…but I’ve been playing both again recently and they’re just perfect little games with a ton of replayability. They’re not retro (FTL 2012, ITB 2018) but they’re old enough to regularly go on sale which is great!...
I love the original patientgamers subreddit so I was stoked to find this community. And because lemmy seems to have a more knowledgeable crowd any topic I posted here had great engagement and discussions, despite the small community. I am too busy to be a mod but maybe I can help by sparking this discussion: what would be needed...
I’ve missed this series for a long time, and I’ll never forgive Epic for dropping it like a baby giraffe....
Top 10-25 games articles are all the same and obvious. Are there some less known or even obscure games, including bad-that-it’s-good ones, we can have fun with? What’s your experience with them? Bonus points if you played via an emulator.
I want to make a case for Saints Row IV: it is my go-to relaxing game. I have it installed on my PS4. The game has a GTA-esque setting and gameplay style, but where GTA is a clever satire of the real world, SR IV doesn’t concern itself with the limits of reality: in fact, You play as the President of the US (with super-powers)...

Are there games that you tried but just couldn’t get into because they feel outdated? Games that, in theory, you would enjoy, but don’t because the controls, graphics, writing, or mechanics just don’t feel good anymore. Games that, compared to today, just don’t hold up to your standards....
I really enjoy time loop games where the player can explore and there’s a story, and isn’t just a puzzle game. I played Outer Wilds a few years ago and I loved everything about it, it’s my favorite in the genre....
I googled it, and the top result wanted to download/install a PuP.

I’m not young. But 25 years after the hype, I am finally getting around to playing half life (1)! Stupidly missed the free action, but paid a few eurocents for it. They’re totally worth it! Awesome game, holds up very very well after two and a half decades!
It’s a bitter sweet feeling afterward, but I love it when a game has characters where, after the game is over, I miss seeing a part of their lives. Be it due to the characters themselves or the interaction they have with one another, exiting their world feels more like a loss than when normally putting a story away....
Since the normies are starting to do their GotY thing....

I have tried a ton of RPGs, and most just don’t click for me. Here are a few:...
