@ambivalena ah I was wondering... So what is the problem you are having with pixelfed? And is it being worked on? I had my pixelfed account but ended up deleting it after 3 months, I think the instance was just too small, not enough users, but on top of that I wasn't loving the interface...
@Jaycee ... also it is kind of weird to have two accounts that both push stuff into the same ecosystem. I think I survived this two weeks and then I got (pixel)fed up of this. I also didn't like the interface much...
@ho1ger@ambivalena yes i agree - i also found that there was enough noticeable difference between mastodon and mastodon like services (pixelfed) such as not showing all posts (from either platform), messages showing up as a disparate chat instead of a thread, and just some general lack of formatting / design... it seemed unfinished... which is too bad as originally i joined the fediverse for pixelfed
@Jaycee yes, it is partially compatible but not fully... I found similar issues with write freely which I also tested a little while... For the moment I think the best compromise is Mastodon...
@ho1ger yeeeesssssss! but i do hold out hope that pixelfed 'completes' its design and compatibility soon - i still want to belong to a pixelfed instance!
Agree, it is, for me it was mostly an act of kindness towards people who are not interested in all amy other nonsense writing but like my photos :D @ho1ger@Jaycee
@Jaycee I started my account there in october 2022 and think it is ok for showing images, there is a thing that is a bit sad and that is that you cant see threads under the posts, after two answers they are gone if you missed the nitification. But you can see them via mastodon which is a bit weird.
I could not see my timeline and the people I followed, and I did ask for support but after 4 days I didnt have the patience (my worse skill) to wait so I put the account on hold.
@ambivalena yes I remember the issues you mentioned also, I couldn't see replies, found that things like followers etc never transferred between platforms, and I was never able to get help so I just assumed it was general abdication 😭
@Jaycee Perhaps the app's work better? I haven't tried them out, but since I don't use my cellphone that is unconveniant for me. I would have to mail the images to myself to be able to post them.
And perhaps that is one of the problems, that all the effort is to make apps work?
