How the hell can this still be a thing? People must be able to opt out of these tests and similar alerts, but they still don't make that possible?

I presume every time an Amber Alert goes out, some poor DV survivor who forgot to turn their phone off is risking their life...

@cazabon @Lockdownyourlife On iOS you can disable all emergency alerts. Settings → Notifications → Scroll all the way to the very bottom → Emergency & Severe alerts off.

I'd still a) Turn the phone off to be doubly sure, and b) Keep the phone off for at least a few hours after the and before the scheduled time. Our test in the UK was... very unsynchronised across networks & areas.
