I got to see them at The Fillmore in Denver, Colo. in 2001 just after starting college. It was a great show with fun energy. Weezer’s drummer’s bad opened, followed by Pete Yorn and then the Foo. Blast of a show.
Messed up and posted on the wrong place … I was supposed to put this in the post your ride thread … I’ll leave it here … let me know if breaks any rules and I can take it down.
I’m an old rider … and she’s an old German lady I call ‘Lotte’ … and we both take it easy and sometimes when I stop during my ride, I just love looking at her and just be amazed that I can ride a bike like this … when it was new, it must have gone for about $20,000 (or more in Canada) … plus add to that the hard case luggage that it came with and that’s another $1,000 extra … at those prices, it’s almost the price I paid for in 2000 for a small property I bought!
But that’s the beauty of old Beemers … reliability … Lotte will probably outlast me in the long run.
1998 BMW K1200RS … a classic ride, keep her at moderate speed and treat her like an older lady … an older German lady I call “Lotte” … I take care of her and she takes care of me. Stay safe out there guys.
Hey, I’m working on a somewhat similar extension with some overlap. I see you posted about migrating to an extension, would you be open to collaborating?
I need to clean-up my code a little bit but I don’t think it should be difficult consolidating the features. A lot of the groundwork is done already:)
Great response to me attacking all the way thru, you could have I dont know, reposted these to that comment thread where people would be looking for this info, OR maybe linked back to it, with out context these are just as I said 14 month old posts. This is how damn shallow I can be. Also you didnt write anything, you copy pasted on this one, and the other is just the same but you linked and didnt do anything else. Good Job
Nice! I’d like to see AQI and PM2.5 included standard with weather apps. I’ve been checking those more than anything given the wildfires here in Canada.
Looking at how it is in my country, air quality data is too fragmented currently for weather apps to include reliably. Some cities don’t have any sensors with public data, some have only private ones or private ones that give data only via their manufacturer paid API. Those private ones can also be anywhere, so may not provide good data (looking at them here I sometimes think people put them inside their homes) and can be turned off anytime. Only a handful have government sensors with public API.
The webpage just takes me to their main instance. It’s not in the AppStore here.
I was one of those using Mlem through Test Flight back in June. It’s got a ways to go to be better than using the browser on an IOS device. I would be interested to try it again once they’ve got more of it built.
I’d been looking to chat about other sci-fi with Trekkies. Hanging out on the science fiction communities on other instances isn’t quite doing it for me simply because Trek remains my first and longest frame of reference for speculative fiction - whether visual media or print.
I’d also love to discuss Treklit. We’re not quite at the critical mass for a dedicated community for that yet, but I get the sense that I’m not the only one ready for a deep dive on the books and comics. Perhaps this might be a better spot for it for now.
So, I’m pulling up a virtual tall stool, leaning my elbow on the counter, and ordering a large glass of dark and chewy Andorian ale.
Fun non-Trek things I’d love to chat about…
