It turns out that when I was messing with my filters in Thunderbird, I accidentally changed one to "Match all messages" but didn't have any parameters... and so they ALL went into my Bugzilla folder.
@killyourfm@protonmail I found very little use for Proton as you can't sign up anonymously, need some ID and they have confirmed they will turn over data to authorities if compelled. Basically just another email service...
@iw@killyourfm Please note that this is incorrect. You can sign up to our services over Tor or using a no-logs VPN. Even if you are shown a human verification step during the process, the only times we ask for an email or phone number is when the network is found suspicious by our anti-abuse algorithms. In such cases, the phone numbers and email addresses are not permanently tied to your account - we only save a cryptographic hash of your email or phone number. (1/2)
@iw@killyourfm Regarding the data, as every other legally operating company, we have to respect the local legislation. However, due to the zero-access encryption we use to protect our users' data stored encrypted on our servers, the amount of data we can provide when we receive a data request is extremely limited: https://proton.me/legal/privacy. @killyourfm Everything seems to be working fine on my end, Jason. I'm a little concerned by this strange occurence, though. Hope everything works out in the end for you.
