I’ve enjoyed watching my British-Australian wife get to know southern Germany for the first time. She’s bowled over by the civic amenities and the quality of life. We spent our last afternoon in a typical community Freibad (open air swimming complex), entry to this superb facility was a pittance and we were almost alone on a sunny Saturday in August.
