@linmob I just shouldn't have used the SPI at all, don't think there is anything that can save my device now tbh. As far as I can tell my SPI or the software on it is dead but still has the highest boot priority and I can't get the laptop to connect to another computer so I am essentially stuck with a dead and as far as I can tell unchangeable boot device. I thought about removing the chip entirely but I have no idea how the Pinebook would react to that so I just concluded it's junk now. :(
@diegor@linmob It definitely doesn't boot from SD and shorting didn't work ether, this device already caused me so much frustration in a really bad time when I needed it as a distraction that I don't intend to buy anything for it in hopes that that works but thanks for the recommendation, seems like that should be a solution in case it actually works in my case!
@gamey I might have some clip (that I got to flash coreboot to a Thinkpad X200s (and never did, because the thing broke before I could use it)) lying around. If you want it, I can send it your way - but I don't want to cause more trauma. @diegor
@linmob@diegor I may come back to that offer at some point but for now I just want to repair my PC and have a real computer again. Even before the Pinebook died it was more of a toy and I need a proper base to work with before I play with even more of those, till then my Pinephone seems more than enough to explore the world of ARM!
