@JohnJBurnsIII none of which is the fault of the artists working hard on the cgi. To say nothing of the “invisible” effects — match-moving, compositing, modelling, and animation — that’s so well done that you’re not even aware of it. And I say that as a die-hard Original Trilogy fan (Lorne Peterson, Phil Tippett, Joe Johnston, Ease Owyeung, & Steve Gawley, FTW!), past model builder, and dark-room photographer. :)

Right.

I know the artists & engineers behind all the CGI are doing crazy stuff in short amount of time.

I'm just finding more and more - the CGI is tending toward "comic-booky" and less invested into story, actor to actor dialogue / connection.

I think some of the Pixar stuff has been amazing, even as it was basically cartoons.

T2 - amazing.
Abyss - amazing
Initial Star Wars (+ 5 & 6) - amazing

@JohnJBurnsIII yep. And, at the same time, most of the Marvel stuff — while entertaining while it’s on — is forgotten before the credits roll. 🤷‍♂️
