@mathowie That's the whole reason why I went private. Between this and the comment bot millionaires promising to give the first five people that DM them $5000, it has gotten bad over there.

@mathowie on the dating apps, this same class of accounts are often scammers. I've wondered if they choose golf because they expect golfers tend to be more well off, so more juicy targets?

I can easily spot the patterns of a spammer/scammer. How on earth can people at facebook miss this?

@mathowie At this point I'm pretty sure that the scammers fulfill a business need that we just don't see.

@mathowie Bots keep the registration growth up now that everyone on earth who wants an account has one. It’s not in their best interest to deal with the bots and scammers.
