Wednesday a guy wrote, but I was getting 'love bomb' vibes then the stupid "What's your bra size" question landed. Pffft...
Ever hopeful, when someone wrote yesterday I was still dumb enough to think "Maybe..." as he gave me his number and we texted. An agreed 'phone call didn't take place. Today, the messages on the dating site have been deleted and since I can no longer see his profile, I must have been blocked. 🤷♀️ 😂

She thinks I should try batting for the other team, but that's not for me.
Funny, many of the younger generation don't seen as 'hung up' on gender (this is shorthand, not to be taken literally). It seems to be more about attraction to an individual. (I recognise I'm making a sweeping generalisation. Up until last year I had worked in HE for many years so had the opportunity to observe more than most in my age group.)
@TalktoBeverley Yeah, they’re much more open in that respect. But I don’t want a female partner. Given my lack of success with people generally, and my current relationship, I think I’m just not made for healthy intra-species relationships :)
I married for the first time when I was 18. If I'd had a happy childhood perhaps I wdn't have been so keen to escape! In some ways we were well-matched, but he was the most selfish person you've ever met. If I say so myself, I did all the giving and he did all the taking. By the end I felt like a prune; sucked dry! I left him the day before our 13th wedding anniversary.
When I left my first husband we didn't have children and I earned more money than him, which made it easier to leave. Though I well understand how hard it is to decide to go through all the upheaval.
Leaving my second husband was a different story altogether... Nightmare.
Mine is someone to deal with certain jobs about the house and the garden, and to wave at the men who are looking for a nurse and a purse. He can, if he wants to be, reasonable company. I don’t look for anything more at my age (61)
@anathema_device I can't tell you the half on here... Some of it would sound like a soap opera anyway.
I have caring responsibilities which have made finding a partner difficult. Men say they understand, but after a couple of months they expect to come first. So, it's adios!

There's no shortage of 'stupid' in this world, so it makes it harder to find the right people to connect with. (I'm not a negative person; just realistic.) Being generally unkind seems to be à la mode these days too. Flipping populist politics.
You seem like a wonderful person to me. You have heart, that's for sure. Idiots don't get to judge you.

It's strange now to think of certain entertainers who dressed as women or who were obviously gay (I'm not equating the two)... I was clueless and so much was left unsaid. I can't think how old I was when I learned that there was such a thing as homosexuality. This might sound crazy but I could well have been in my late 20s or early 30s. No internet!
The funny thing is, that I assumed, like Benny Hill, he was gay. But he was married five times! (Not that means he wasn’t gay or bisexual, but the evidence doesn’t support that on the face of it.)
