The Internet is allowing us to build a richer, more complex society but the way in which we Internet today is failing to support the governance systems that a more complex world requires.

Unfortunately the future is more complex than we can possibly imagine. Any and all attempts to engineer the future will fail. The passage has to happen organically. The one thing we absolutely don't want is old-fashioned governments thinking they are going to engineer the future. They'll just end up fucking us all over. The Internet belongs to the people; let them work it out. It will be ugly for a long time before it gets good.
