@jeffjarvis Ozempic does change people’s food satiation and metabolism but the idea that it changes their impulsivity and buying habits generally seems far-fetched. It may be based on the notion that fat people are weak-willed, which is in itself suspect.
I’ve said before that the panic around Ozempic is basically “Y’all need to be less fat…no, not like THAT.”
@jeffjarvis wasn't there a study in ozempic or something that showed it had negative health side effects unless you really needed to take it? I feel like I've heard of that recently
@jeffjarvis ah, I think it was this: "stomach paralysis", abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, pancreatitis, and more! Sounds like a "great" food additive, just the sorta stuff you want associated with food.
@jeffjarvis I’m with you, this seems like a far fetched idea to me.
Next week someone will come up with an additive to Lean Cuisine meals to counter the effects and make everyone twice as addicted to bad food as before. Markets will skyrocket, airplanes will need to be widened, concrete reinforced…
