[1/8] 🌐 @okfn has been a driving force behind open knowledge for over two decades! We've championed transparency, accessibility, and openness in software, data, standards and communities. Our work has helped shape our digital world.
[2/8] 💡 The Digital Public Goods Alliance is dedicated to promoting digital public goods - resources that are open, accessible, and beneficial to all. They're convening a global movement to ensure these goods are freely available for all and used for good.
[3/8] 🤝 Earlier this year, #CKAN was recognised as a digital public good helping advance the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals (#SDGs) set by the UN. This opened the door to a more robust partnership that starts today.
[4/8] 🌍 By joining the alliance, @okfn will get closer with highly relevant stakeholders to help build, share, adopt, and implement digital public goods and infrastructure to create a more inclusive, equitable, and open digital landscape.
[5/8] 🤗 Together, we'll work on projects that bridge the digital divide, create open infrastructure, promote openness, and ensure digital public goods are accessible to all, regardless of their location or resources. It's a step closer to a fair, sustainable and open future!
[7/8] 🗳️ Developing a #DigitalPublicInfrastructure for Electoral Processes: @okfn is incubating a working group to advocate and create open-by-design technology to make democratic processes more trustworthy, resilient, and transparent.
[8/8] 🆕 Updating the #OpenDataCommons and revisiting the #OpenDefinition: They both form a strong digital commons helping advance #SDGs and will undergo a legal review to be updated and adapted to the current legislation and social norms.
